The NPSH value defines the minimum suction pressure required for a pump to operate efficiently without experiencing cavitation (avoiding flow or pressure drops and physical damage). It is particularly used to determine the positive pressure (in meters of water column, mWC) at the pump suction inlet to ensure safe operation in systems with underground suction.
